Digitalist ‘Designing Future Services’ Workshop
September 12 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
As Part of Helsinki Design Week Digitalist bring you ‘Designing Future Services’ Workshop
Trust is an important element when it comes to services. Especially when this topic becomes relevant with current hype of AI, and growing ambitions for independent decision making technologies. This relatively new trend might catch people by surprise when they hear that machine can decide on their behalf. Questions like “Can I trust it?”, “Does it have the same values as me?”, “Can it think like a human?”, “Can it understand my needs?” are only few that come to mind.
There are many perspectives from where you can look whilst discussing about trusting an AI. In our workshop we will discuss ethical aspects when creating a service. Through new services and experiences created in the workshop we will take a step towards a more future aware design.
About the Workshop
As technology became more intelligent, concerns of it making independent decisions or becoming self-contained are causing people to question their trust towards certain services where so-called smart technology is utilised. Empathy is one way to tackle these issues and getting people to embrace new tech opportunities. Importance of using ethical perspective while developing new customer experiences is emphasised in this workshop.
During the workshop we introduce our “Service Sandbox Thinking” approach which promotes ideation by exploring various paths. The “sandbox thinking” encourages users to explore in a non-linear way and to focus on the value and experience as the primary driver for the service.
